The concept behind this final model was to explore the elements of design. Beginning by placing four lines around a dot in relation to a word like unstable or self-centered a 2-D image was created and then developed into a 3-D model. From two 3x3 models I combined the two forms to create an addition model with elements from each. The dominant curve in the first model was something I wanted to keep throughout all the pieces to create an overall unity and visual connection. The planes that run through the curve visually connect at two different points so when I went to subtract from the addition model I split the curve into two parts. By cutting out my planes into outlines of the shape it benefited greatly when I manipulated my model to the next point. The alteration in size of the triangular planes with the addition of color made it eye catching and aesthetically pleasing. The gradation of color made the high begin at the smaller red piece then travel up. Color Hierarchy played an important role in this model. Transforming this piece into serial planes was a challenging process for I was tempted to follow the lines that had already been instilled in my previous models. The study model was boring so I went in a new direction and created serial planes that moved in a different direction. The result still had a connection to the previous models but it was also visually interesting. A change I would make to this model is to make the left side drastically higher then the right side because in the current model it is only slightly taller and the height difference is not obvious at first glance.
This example of a study model is the one I created from serial planes which I did not end up using due to how closely it mirrored my other models and I was searching for something different yet it needed to still related to the previous model.
